Overview

Our firm provides tax legal services at both the litigation and advisory level.

Our long-standing experience in tax audits, combined with systematic monitoring of the continuous changes in tax legislation, gives us the comparative advantage of offering tax planning aimed at ensuring proper compliance with tax obligations and minimising the risk of tax disputes.

In addition, when handling a tax audit, we combine our legal and audit expertise to assess the correctness of the tax authority's findings from every angle. In this way, we provide you with a comprehensive assessment of the likely outcome of your case at the litigation stage, while also proposing alternative solutions, whether an out-of-court settlement of the dispute or a strategic arrangement for settling your liabilities.

Tax Planning

We undertake tax planning for individuals and businesses, taking into account your objectives, financial position and the requirements of tax legislation at both national and international level. Our aim is the sustainable, long-term implementation of your financial and business plans.

We also carry out preventive tax reviews. In simple terms, where you have concerns about your tax compliance, we conduct a comprehensive review of your tax profile and financial position before any audit is carried out by the tax authorities. This preventive review covers how your movable and immovable assets were acquired, your bank account transactions, your investments in financial instruments and cryptocurrencies, and whether your financial data has been accurately declared to the Tax Authorities. Where undeclared income or assets come to light, we provide appropriate guidance to achieve tax compliance and avoid penalties and surcharges.

Tax Audits and Legal Representation

A tax audit is a time-consuming and complex process that requires specialised advisers to structure a well-organised and legally sound approach. From the outset of the audit, we represent you before all the competent tax audit authorities (Tax Offices (Δ.Ο.Υ.), the Public Revenue Audit Centre (ΕΛΚΕ), the Financial and Economic Crime Unit (ΥΕΔΔΕ), the Centre for Compliance and Liability Audits (ΚΕΜΕΦ), the Centre for the Taxation of Large Enterprises (ΚΕΦΟΚ), and the Directorate for the Verification of Fulfilment of Tax Obligations (ΔΕΟΕ)) for the submission of memoranda, the gathering of supporting evidence, and the conduct of audit verifications. At the same time, we carry out a comprehensive assessment of your case and provide appropriate legal advice on whether to submit voluntary amending tax returns during the audit stage.

Where taxes, penalties and surcharges are assessed, we represent you in filing administrative appeals before the Dispute Resolution Directorate (ΔΕΔ) as part of the administrative review of the dispute. Our aim is to provide the fullest possible representation before the ΔΕΔ so as to help you avoid protracted court proceedings.

Finally, we represent you before the Administrative Courts and the Council of State. Our firm has very substantial litigation experience, having handled particularly significant tax cases before the Greek courts with successful outcomes.

Out-of-Court / Settlement Resolution of Tax Disputes

There are cases in which an out-of-court resolution of a tax dispute, or a strategic arrangement for settling and repaying your liabilities, is the preferable course. In this context, we represent you before the Committee for the Out-of-Court Settlement of Tax Disputes (ΕΕΕΦΔ), aiming to achieve the maximum possible reduction of your liabilities.

Where an out-of-court resolution of the dispute is not possible, we undertake the submission of applications for the out-of-court settlement of your total liabilities through the out-of-court debt settlement mechanism under Law 4738/2020.
